PROFESSIONAL WORK / INCIDENT CONTEXT

Less repeated investigation. More operational context.

A source-aware evidence cascade that helps analysts reconstruct incident context across dossiers, active backlog, historical records and daily communications.

MY CONTRIBUTION

Designed the C1 → C2 → C3 evidence cascade, retrieval instructions, source disclosure and explicit handling of missing context.

TOOLS & METHODS

Copilot · SharePoint · ServiceNow · incident dossiers · backlog exports · Teams evidence

CHALLENGE

Incident context is fragmented across several records. Repeating the same investigation consumes time, while the native Office retrieval connector is probabilistic and cannot guarantee complete coverage.

DESIGN DECISIONS

Search progressively through the evidence cascade, disclose the consulted sources and search path, and distinguish unavailable evidence from a negative finding. The analyst retains authority over interpretation and action.

CONSTRAINTS

Office and SharePoint retrieval is probabilistic. Source paths and search scope must stay explicit; a missing match cannot be treated as proof that an incident has no relevant history.

An evidence cascade.

C1 / Incident dossier

Start with the individual incident record and its available contextual evidence.

C2 / Active backlog

Consult active backlog and export anchors to establish the current operational view.

C3 / History + communications

Use incident history and daily Teams conversations to recover prior treatment and communications.

IMPLEMENTATION & VALIDATION

C1 establishes the incident dossier, C2 adds the active backlog and C3 retrieves historical and Teams context. The cascade keeps evidence available for analyst inspection before the next decision.

RESULT & EVIDENCE

Reported operational impact: approximately 90% less contextualization time, moving from 5–15 minutes to under 30 seconds and freeing about 4 hours per shift. These are approximate reported results, not a benchmark or portfolio telemetry.

EVIDENCE LIMIT

SharePoint retrieval remains probabilistic. Missing evidence calls for another search, direct verification in ServiceNow or current context supplied by the analyst. The interface must not manufacture an incident conclusion.

HUMAN DECISION

The system assembles contextual evidence. The analyst verifies the record, handles ambiguity and makes the final decision.

WHEN EVIDENCE IS MISSING

Expose the search limit and offer a concrete next step: retry retrieval, verify in the source system or provide the missing context.

TRADE-OFFS & LESSONS

Reported context-gathering gains are approximate observations, not controlled benchmarks. The workflow trades a one-shot answer for staged evidence and clearer uncertainty; analyst authority remains the final boundary.
